Augusta, GA is sort of a necessity when traveling down I-20 from Columbia, SC to Atlanta, so I figured I’d stop in. As it turns out, one of the World Poker Tour’s Amateur Poker League’s events were going on at a nice little place called Allie Katz, and I have to say, the place was a blast.
Everyone remained pleasant, but they were down for the game. One guy there had actually earned a ticket to the World Poker Tour playing these games. My favorite part?
They actually put a bounty on a player’s head because it was his birthday. I felt bad that I wasn’t the one to knock him out. I felt even worse that when, on my next trip back through the Garden City, the place had shut down. Alas, nothing good can last forever.
